Daniele is a data scientist and an entrepreneur. Her focus is on developing analytical tools and experiments within psychology, social behaviour and cultural trends, on a large scale. Over recent years her research centred on channeling vast and under-explored subjective data to tackle big questions such as political polarisation in media and the knowledge gap in gender-based medicine (ovary.co).
Iota – the R&D Lab she co-created – is developing bespoke analytics products for clients including Samsung, the Big Lottery Fund and Lloyd’s Register. In 2016 Daniele co-founded Humanising Tech, a community currently numbering over 1,000 researchers and technologists interested in the convergence of human cognition, group behaviour, mental health and AI.
As Chief Scientist at Brave Ventures, Daniele is responsible for overseeing the development of algorithms and new research methods to match talented individuals with relevant companies and job opportunities in frontier markets – where available data is sparse and creative approaches are required to model people’s behaviour.
Previously Daniele has held positions as Head of Digital Intelligence at Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH), an advertising agency, board member of the Black Sheep Fund and as advisor to various data and media start-ups in the UK, Israel and India.
Daniele holds an M.Sc in Behavioural and Psychological Sciences (LSE) a B.A in Linguistics and a B.Tech in Software Engineering (Hebrew U). She is a guest lecturer at Westminster Business School, a mentor at the Digital Catapult and Acorn accelerator programs and a regular contributor to data for good and political tech consortia including the Blockchain for Good Initiative, Unbias initiative for fairness in algorithms and the Digital Leadership Forum.
