Vice-chair Content, Africa Business Summit
Leila Serrao was born in Luanda, Angola and raised in the London, UK. She holds a BSc in Business Management from Imperial College of London, where she was President of the Student Union. Leila joined the London Business School in 2016 to pursue the Masters in Finance degree.
Leila began her career in Finance with internships at Goldman Sachs (Asset Management Internal Audit) and Morgan Stanley (Sub-Saharan Africa Investment banking) in London. She joined the latter as an Analyst within the Investment Banking team. Prior to joining the London Business School, Leila worked as an Investment Banking Junior Manager at Standard Bank in her home town, Luanda.
Leila decided to join the London Business School specifically due to the post-experience structure of the Masters in Finance (MiF) programme. Keen to further her career in the finance industry across different continents, Leila was attracted to the wide range of electives on offer at the London Business School as well the school’s diverse community.
Alongside being Vice-Chair (Content) for the Africa Business Summit, Leila is also a MiF Ambassador and recently participated as a panel speaker at a student recruitment event run by London Business School faculty. Leila is also part of the student-team that was selected to represent London Business School at the Peeptrade University Challenge, which will be hosted in Chicago, USA.
Outside work and study, Leila enjoys travelling, visiting the cinema/theatres, jogging, cooking and learning Kizomba (Angolan dance).
